Reagan and Ed could have been family by the time we left. They were quality educators  about the horses and the care involved in keeping them healthy and safe. Our young, novice horseback riders were provided great confidence before they began, and they were encouraged and praised along the way. The wagon ride was perfect! Every “ranch hand” we met provided kindness and a willingness to share their love of the ranch and the horses. A beautiful collection of caring people.

Ride Information

Ride through the Gallatin National Forest and enjoy its natural beauty on horseback. See views of Hebgen Lake and the Continental Divide, along with hills, streams, and wildlife, all while enjoying the fresh mountain air. Our small group sizes offer a more personal experience with our wonderful guides.

For safety reasons, all riders must be physically able to mount their horse unassisted with a mounting block or you will not be able to go on the ride.

Pregnant women are not permitted to ride.

Explore the rugged beauty of our exclusive Bears Den trail with our 3, 4, or 8-hour private ride, ascending to higher elevations for panoramic views of the entire Hebgen Lake basin. This adventurous terrain offers a more intimate horseback riding experience with your own private guide, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the serene wilderness. Experience the thrill of climbing through diverse landscapes and enjoy the personal touch of our expert guides on this unforgettable journey.

Minimum 2 riders for 3 & 4 hour trips.
Minimum 4 riders for 8 hour

*Private rides must be reserved via phone call. Call 406-640-3020 to book a private ride.

For safety reasons, all riders must be physically able to mount their horse unassisted with a mounting block or you will not be able to go on the ride.

Pregnant women are not permitted to ride.

Arrival Policy

To help us keep everything running smoothly and make sure you get the most out of your ride, please arrive 30 minutes before your scheduled ride time. This gives us time to check you in, go over safety instructions, and match you with your horse.

Arrival times:
9:30 AM ride — arrive by 9:00 AM
1:30 PM ride — arrive by 1:00 PM
4:30 PM ride — arrive by 4:00 PM

Please note:
Guests who arrive late may miss their ride. Horses and Wrangler Groups are assigned thirty minutes before the ride and if you're not here on time, your horse may be given to another guest. In this case, we won’t be able to issue a refund.

We truly want you to have the best experience possible — arriving early ensures a relaxed start to your adventure!

Directions to Diamond P Ranch

All rides will be starting on the Southside of Highway 20 directly across from the Diamond P Ranch main gate.

If you are coming from the Island Park Idaho area turn Right across from the main gate. If you and coming from the West Yellowstone area turn Left.
